Behind the Scenes: Preservation and Conservation for the Future
Sharing art begins with proper care. The JK Art Foundation highly values the quality of its collection and actively invests in the preservation of cultural heritage. A wonderful example of this is the recent preparation for the exhibition Kees van Dongen: The Road to Success.
Before the selected pieces were transported to Singer Laren, we decided to have them undergo a full conservation treatment. In collaboration with art historian and Van Dongen expert Anita Hopmans, each work was thoroughly analyzed. Subsequently, the restoration studio Redivivus, led by Gwendolyn Boevé-Jones, treated the paintings with meticulous precision. The result? The artworks are in absolute pristine condition, ensuring they can be admired by the public in their optimal state.
